The story that goes along with the title for this entry is quite a good one and you will have to wait until we get back to hear the entire story with actions.
We woke up this morning with the intention of catching an early train to Dresen to see some of the sites there before going to Schmolln to visit Andi´s host family.
Here´s our short, long day, in short...
1) Woke up later than we wanted to
2) Spent 45 minutes typing a blog post that wouldn´t work
3) Went to buy some souvenirs at Checkpoint Charlie
4) Went to the train station and stood in line for 30 minutes to get a ticket--we were also at the wrong station
5) Spent 2 hours on one train and 1 hour on another to get to Dresden
6) Put backpacks in a locker (cost $4) then realized we left phone numbers in the locker that we needed--decided to find them online since Curtis is cheap and didn´t want to spend $8 to lockup the backpacks twice
7) Discovered we would only have 2+ hours in Dresden if we wanted to get to Schmolln at a decent time
8) Spent $5 and 40 minutes trying to call Andi´s host family
9) THE BATHROOM ESCAPADE OCCURS -- Andi calls Curtis a "little stink" for buying postcards when he was just trying to get some change in order to use the restroom--yes public restrooms cost money in Europe
10) Powerwalk Dresden in 1 hour!
11) Catch a train to Schmolln
12) The ticket man tells us to change trains at the wrong stop
13) We get off at the wrong stop and the next train doesn´t go until 4am!
14) Andi´s host borther comes to get us with a car
15) Arrive at destination after a
LONG travel day. Happy to be in bed!
Of course I could go on and on and on, but those are the highlights folks....
